It is very true that you are not able to choose your family. They are a gift from God to teach you different aspects of Spirituality. Even if your familial upbringing was traumatic in nature there are many different gifts these interactions can bring to you on your Spiritual Journey. Humans have the propensity to deny their ability to learn and grow as they become more advanced in years. This is of course nonsense. However people will still act with impunity because of this strongly held belief. To our understanding it is as easy for a mature adult to change behaviour as it is a small child. Most adults are not Spiritually mature, prefering to continue to act like children even into old age. If you have chosen to be Spiritually mature they will attempt to project their least desirable qualities onto you to deflect from recognising their own failings. Do not be disheartened by this if you have become Karma Nautral then none of these attacks can effect you in the way they used too. Just allow them to pass and stay isolated from thier attempts to indoctrinate you into their way of thinking.
